Even as a child, we travelled a lot, either on holiday, mostly to Italy, or as carers at AWO holiday camps, mostly to the North Sea. Looking after up to 80 children for 14 days or three weeks was really fun at the time. Maybe that's why I became a father so late.

Besides that, I played football as a hobby for years, in a so-called bar team. Training on Saturdays at the "Weiß-Kreuz-Stadion", tournaments in the area several times a year and, to top it all off, a tournament in Tblissi, Georgia. Then, in the late 1990s, a torn cruciate ligament during the Saturday kick and the end of the "career".

As I mentioned before, I've been into computers since the late '70s, all self-taught, and at some point I started programming websites, which has always been with me.

Then, on my first holiday in the Caribbean, I got my diving licence, more for fun than anything else. But six years later I got serious, joined a diving club in Dillingen and went to Hurghada for 10 days in early 2000, 2 dives a day. From then until 2007 I did about 150 dives - and suddenly I didn't enjoy diving any more.

And then in 2010 dragon boating was added to the list, at least three regattas a year, weekly training, this year even 2 sessions a week if it could be done. Until a thrombosis also put a - mental - end to this career.

And since then I have mainly been geocaching, laying caches, organising events, searching for caches and solving mysteries.

Last but not least, I'm a bookworm and a TV freak, always on the lookout for THE film or THE series.

In 2021, I had to pay tribute to my various knee injuries, another accident during a cache tour sealed the fate of my knee, the transformation to a cyborg, to a walking spare parts store was imminent, a new knee was needed.

Professionally, I have been working for the "Verein für Sozialpsychiatrie e.V." since the early 90s, since 2007 in the area of "outpatient help".
