Well, first of all I would like to introduce myself. I am Wolfgang Zimmer - as you can see from the URL of the website - at the moment, at the beginning of 2022, well over 62 years old, I am married and have two daughters.
With a website you always have to ask yourself, what do I write there, what do I reveal about myself, my family or whatever.
I live with my family in Dillingen in the Saarland, have been working with computers since the late 70s, and am self-taught in this field, which is sometimes quite annoying because I have to do many things several times until they work. But more about that in the "Leisure" section. My wife works at a school here in Dillingen, my daughters study in Saarbrücken.
All four of us like to travel, and the girls play sports, handball to be precise. They currently play for the HG Saarlouis in the 1st women's team. "On the side, they are studying law and teaching.
In the meantime, I do geocaching wherever I am and wherever I find the right caches. That's me, HyppoderEinzige, with my fellow cachers Skrolan3, Schokokeks99 and Keksmonster xD, often in "Team 4plusX".
In the meantime we are only rarely out and about in this team, the girls simply have other interests now.
Team 4plusX", that's team boss HyppoderEinzige, Skrolan3 and the currently not so cache-friendly Schokokeks99 and Keksmonster xD.
It all started in May 2012, when an acquaintance at a birthday party thought he wanted to show the girls how to "geocache". And so, late in the evening, a larger group went to the now archived "GC1GYBV Feuer und Stahl", which was around the corner.
I wasn't there myself at the time, but just one week later I logged my very first cache, the "GC1K49V Kreuzkapelle Püttlingen".
Since Corona made us happy in the cacher scene in 2020, there have only been a few tours together with others. Only "Saarbock", i.e. Mathilde and Joachim, are still on the road with us, just as Corona-compliant as we are, so we all take care of each other.
What is there to say?
Well, "the secretary" is of course a little impertinence on my part, resulting from the fact that Silvia is always quicker at the pen than I am and thus usually takes over the log entries when geocaching.
Right at the beginning of our caching career she was always there, always looking out for our safety, always "turning on her mobile phone" because the direction arrow didn't quite work.
But she also has a good nose and above all she is much more patient than the boss.
Where we used to walk a lot, the e-bike has proved its worth in recent years when the "old" bones don't want to go the way we do.
Skrolan3, as she is called in normal cacher life, is always the cautious one, the admonishing one, often too cautious and too admonishing, but whatever, that's the way it is and we still enjoy being out and about.
